Wow, I loved this book. I had a hard time putting it down. You have NASA, Mars, Martians, a Martian virus, an awesome woman astronaut, and a way different take on the zombie apocalypse.
Meredith T. Paulson, Lydia, and two male astronauts are returning from Mars with the many samples they have collected when their spaceship is hit by asteroids. Little do they know how this will affect themselves and the people on Earth.
As per procedure, they are all in quarantine when they return. They all become sick with cold like symptoms. The men seem to recover but the women do not. They become aggressive with the men, mating with them, killing them and depositing their eggs into the bodies. The observers and scientists have no idea what hell has been released upon them.
I am not usually into space or si-fi type books, but I do like books about zombies. This book has space exploration, si-fi, zombies, love and humanity, with just the right combination of all as to not get overwhelmed by one over the others.
I highly recommend this book if you are into space, si-fi, and/or zombies. This is not your typical “zombie apocalypse” story, that is why I enjoyed it so much.
I would like to thank the author, Lawrence Ambrose, for giving me a copy of this book to read and review. This is a phenomenal book and is going on my “best of 2015” list.
5 out of 5 stars.
